After reading English Literature at Cambridge University, Mima worked in freelance journalism, writing poems and features for print media. She trained as a barrister then as a teacher, and for twenty years taught English Literature and History of Art.

She is structural editor of several non-fiction titles including Oliver James’ Sunday Times bestseller Affluenza for Vermilion (Random House), which she also abridged for audiobook recording. She recently completed the selective entry six-month ‘Write Your Novel’ course with Curtis Brown Creative.

She has written two novels, ‘Kill the Head’ about an alternative school and ‘Hatching’ about the residents of a sanctuary in Norfolk. She’s also written songs for the band Ponce as well as plays, musicals and short stories. Nonfiction projects have included a memoir of small-build entrepreneur Adam Collier-Woods and of infamous 'one star chef' Davide Cerretini.

At the moment, she is pursuing self-publication to speed up the process of sharing her non fiction work to clear the desk for new writing projects, including a psychological thriller and a novel based on the life of a suffragette. She is also seeking representation for her fiction work.
